the Federal Government hurries to release the assets of PHCN, to private sector investors General Secretary of the National Union of Electricity Employees, NUEE, Comrade Ajaero in an interview with Labour Vanguard, said the laying-off of the workers is of less importance to staff.

Comrade Ajaero during his interview said they have paid no attention to the sack comment by FG and if not for the pleas and negotiations made by the FG, they will stop work once they are paid. He said the Minister of Power, has pleaded with them to continue working because their absence from work will result in no electricity in the country.

When asked about the promises made to Nigerians on increase in mega watts, he said that such promises are mere deception because today Nigeria is under 4000mega watts and we dont have enough power station and transmission, the line to transmit power, He also added that Transformers which are supposed to supply about 100 persons today will supply about 300 persons and from 2001 till date, there has been no change in the mega watts supplied

He added that for a better power situation in Nigeria, better and conscious plan should be made and politics should not be played
