24-year old Chinese woman, Li Zhenghua was found by an alarmed nurse trying to eat her baby, just a few days after the baby was born.
When the nurse attempted to rescue the baby from her clutch, the insane mother refused to let go. The nurse yelled and the hospital staff came and tore her away from the baby.
The hospital spokesperson has said: "It was really shocking, the arm was badly damaged and suffered not only heavy bruising but bleeding as a result of the bite. Fortunately, doctors managed to insert something to stop her closing her teeth and then levered her jaws apart. After that they gave her a sedative and took the baby to a secure location."
It is still unclear why she tried to eat her baby, but the baby has now been taken into government custody.
