Sports Platini Wants FIFA's Investigation and Report on World Cup Bids Published

President of European football body,UEFA,Michel Platini will not oppose calls to have an investigation report on FIFA published.

There has been a clamour to have Michael Garcia's report into alleged World Cup corruption brought out in the open.

However the world football governing body is averse to having the report on the bidding processes for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups made public.

The American lawyer led an inquest into how Russia and Qatar were awarded the hosting rights for the next two World Cups, and wanted his report to published.

FIFA's executive committee will meet today to deliberate on what to make of the report.

And Platini has now championed the call for the report to be published, with vice-presidents of FIFA Jeffrey Webb, Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein of Jordan and Jim Boyce also backing the calls for the report to be made public.

"I believe it is now necessary for the FIFA executive committee to authorise the appropriate publication of the report," Garcia said.
