Metro Police avert violent protest in Bayelsa community

The police in Bayelsa State Wednesday prevented a vicious protest by angry youths of Otuokpoti community in Ogbia Local Government council following the crushing to death of a cement trader by a truck driver in the area.

The tragedy occurred on Monday, when the victim was parking his motorcycle he used in conveying cement to a nearby town. The truck driver out of fear of being attacked by the youths who had set ablaze one of the trucks reported himself to the police.

The state police public relations officer, Mr. Alex Akhigbe, confirmed the incident and said that investigation is being handled by the Kolo Divisional Police Headquarters.
