The destruction of an Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Natural Limited (NLNG) pipeline by suspected militants in Rivers state have been averted by policemen.
“On the 7th day of July, 2016, about 0600hrs, the Explosive Ordinance Department team, acting on a tip-off, proceeded to Rumuche, Emohua and recovered Improvised Explosive Device placed to blow up the NLNG pipeline," the state police spokesman, Omoni Nnamdi said.
“The IED was said to have been fabricated with a large mass of dynamite and other accessories," he said adding that it has been defused and evacuated from the site.
