The Inspector-General of the Nigeria Police, Solomon Arase, has intervened in the ongoing leadership tussle in the PDP.

The police IG on Friday held a meeting with the two warring sides; Senator Ali Modu Sheriff and Senator Ahmed Makarfi and their supporters. The Director-General of Department of State Services (DSS), Lawal Musa Daura was also in attendance.

After exhaustive deliberations, each of the factions agreed to nominate four representatives each, for peace talks to arrive at a harmonized position within one week.

It was also agreed that the PDP Secretariat at Wadata House Plaza and Legacy House should be under lock and key pending the outcome of the resolution.

Arase called on the politicians to educate their followers on the need to act and conduct themselves within the ambit of the law. He also assured that the Force would not relent in its mandate to protect lives and property without fear or favour.
