Six mobile policemen attached to the Ondo State Police Command have been arrested for shooting a tanker driver and then burning the truck on fire.

A Warri based businessman, Mr. Orogboh, the owner of the brand new trailer truck coming from Lagos to Warri, reported that the six policemen had stopped his truck at about 2am close to the Ore toll gate. After they questioned the driver, they allowed it to continue on the journey, only to start shooting at the truck. The manager of the business, Mr. Henshell Gbugbadia, had also been in the company of the truck driver but had escape into the bush, narrowly escaping death.

The policemen thought the manager had died in the bush and turned the truck towards Lagos direction and set it ablaze to eliminate evidence of a crime. Unfortunately for them, the manager who had escaped informed his Managing Director to brief him on the situation, who in turn reported the matter to the Ore toll gate police station. The patrol team of the night of the murder denied the crime, but later confessed to it.

Motive is yet to be known for such an atrocity committed.
