The Presidency on Thursday in Abuja denied having any link with a group, Presidential View and Endorsement Platform, allegedly canvassing for President Goodluck Jonathan's return in 2015.

This is contained in a statement by the Office of the Special Adviser on Political Matters to the President and National Coordinator Goodluck Support Groups (GSG), Prof. Rufai Alkali.

In the statement, signed by Special Assistant on Support Groups to Alkali, Dr Godson Nnaka, the presidency urged all registered GSGs, NGOs and organisations supporting Mr President to disregard the invitation by the group to a summit in Abuja.

‎According to the statement, the GSG is the sole umbrella body for all support groups routing for President Jonathan's return in 2015.

''For the avoidance of any doubt, the Special Assistant to the Special Adviser advises all groups to consult and confirm from the office of the political adviser in matters regarding support groups.''

It called on all organisations that had not undergone the screening at the adviser's office to quickly do so.

''The Office of the Political Adviser to the President, who also doubles as the National Coordinator of the GSG, currently opens the door for all individuals, organisations and groups to come together under one umbrella.

``All groups not registered or have not gone through the screening can still do so,'' the statement stated.

It stated that the objective of the screening and evaluation was to unite members of the organisations for proper accreditation and forestall groups speaking in discordant tones while supporting the president.

It said after the screening, a Code of Conduct was being designed for all groups‎ and cautioned them to be law abiding.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the group had invited all 7,000 GSGs to Abuja for a summit and registration‎.
