The All Progressive Congress has been cautioned by the Presidency over their insistence to publicly insult and render the political state of Nigeria unstable with charges that amount to treason against the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This statement was made known o behalf of the Presidency by Reuben Abati, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

Dismissing the cries of the APC to impeach the President as ill motivated and opportunistic, Nigeria has been urged by Abati to know the difference between reckless violations of their civic duties and the need to protect the integrity of the nation.

The APC has mounted a fierce campaign to discredit the Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan by extension.
