President Muhammadu Buhari may be moving his anti-corruption war to Nigerian Universities as he has sent a caution note to Vice Chancellors of Federal Government owned universities against reckless spending of resources.

The President said any university fund that is not spent mainly on the pivotal mandate of the institution in the areas of learning, research and community development falls under money expended in profligacy.

Buhari, who was represented by Professor Chinedu Mafiana, the Deputy Secretary of National Universities Commission (NUC), said this at the 32nd Convocation of University of Ilorin, that his administration would not spare any sector of the nation in the fight against corruption.

The President also cautioned union leaders in the nation’s universities against table-banging habits, occasioned by frivolous demands, just as he urged the managements to live up to their billings in discharging their responsibilities.

He urged the graduates to embrace job creation prowess, noting that the government could not provide enough job opportunities for qualified Nigerians.
