Politics President Goodluck to Inaugurate Advisory Committee on National Dialogue Next Week

According to a statement issued in Abuja and signed by Mr Sam Nwaobasi, the Special Assistant (Media) to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, President Goodluck Jonathan will inaugurate the Advisory Committee on National Dialogue on Monday, Oct. 7.

The statement said the event would hold at the Council Chambers of the State House, Aso Villa, at 10 a.m.

The 13-man committee is headed by former Senator Femi Okoruonmu and has Akilu Indabawa, a former PDP youth leader, as secretary.

Other members of the committee are former Ambassador to the U.S., Prof. George Obiozor; Prof. Ben Nwabueze, former senators Khairat Gwadabe and Timothy Adudu.

The rest are Mr Tony Nyiam, a retired Colonel; Prof. Funke Adebayo, Mairo Amshi, Abubakar Sadiq, Buhari Bello, Tony Uranta and Dauda Birma.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) said Jonathan had announced the constitution of the committee during his nationwide 53rdIndependence Day broadcast.

The committee is charged with the setting of modalities for a national dialogue and is expected to deliver its report in four weeks.
