Politics President Jonathan Declares Three Days of National Mourning for Mandela

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has instituted a three day mourning for the passing of the former South African President and Anti-apartheid hero, Dr. Nelson Mandela, who passed away on the 5th of December, 2013.

Flags are to be flown at half-mast in honour of the departed leader and international figure of peace and struggle. President Jonathan has also called upon both Christians and Muslims in Nigeria to conduct special prayers on behalf of the dearly departed leader.

An inter-denominational memorial service for the late Dr. Mandela is to be held at the State House Chapel on Sunday.
