Today, supporters of Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers state took to the streets of Abuja protesting against what they tagged "police impunity" in Rivers state.
The protesters under the auspices of the Anti Corruption Network (ACN),were led by Dino Melaye, they sang all the way,demanding the sack of the Rivers state Commissioner of Police, Mbu Joseph.
The Protesters marched from Ahmadu Bello Way to Kur Mohammed Avenue and the National Mosque area all in the Central Business District, Abuja, before they were dispersed by a combined team of Mobile and regular policemen led by CSP Gabriel Elaigwu, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, FCT.
The police sprayed several canisters of tear gas before the crowd could be dispersed.
