Metro Proprietor Lands in Court For Allegedly Raping Primary School Girl in Akure

The police on Tuesday in Akure arraigned a 25-year-old primary school proprietor, Adeyemi Ayomide, for allegedly raping a minor.

The prosecutor, ASP Isah Atangbe said the accused committed the offences on Nov. 6 at the premises of the Voice of the Lord Nursery and Primary School, Oshinle Quarters, Akure.

He told the court that the accused had unlawful carnal knowledge of an 11-year-old girl in the school.

“The accused also tried to defile another nine-year-old girl in the school by removing her underwear,’’ he alleged.

The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge.

In his ruling, the Chief Magistrate, Akin Akintoye, granted the school proprietor bail in sum of N50, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

He adjourned the case to Feb. 4 for further hearing.
