The 23 year old photojournalist who had been a victim of another gang rape in Mumbai, India, has shown signs of physical recovery from the ordeal, and may soon be discharged and taken under the care of her family.

Speaking to media outlets, she courageously said, “Rape is not the end of life,” Her family has requested privacy and some “breathing space” from the international attention the attack has garnered.

Five men have been arrested in relation to the crime, and one, Qasim Shaikh, has already confessed to committing rape against the young woman, according to the Times of India. One was arrested at the Delhi-Haryana border.

Though India’s Home Minister assured the public that everything would be done to ensure the maximum punishment is granted to the five suspects, his opposition has gone on the attack, accusing the government of not doing enough to curb the prevalence of sexual attacks against women in India, in particular the brutal rape and murder of a paramedical student last December in new Delhi.View attachment 471

This news is just somehow. Why is the name of the woman mentioned? It felt like I was reading a half-torn piece of paper.

I mean...her name should have been the first thing we should see, no?
