In december 2014, the All Progressives Congress, APC Spokesperson said that it was last Christmas celebration under PDP government which he tagged; the bondage of insecurity, corruption, unemployment, widespread hopelessness and poor leadership.

In a Christmas message to Nigerians, contained in a statement in Abuja, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said the party is hope in the horizon for the millions of Nigerians who could not celebrate this year due to the prevailing gloomy atmosphere across the land.

”Many cannot travel home due to fears of kidnapping, ethno-religious crisis and insurgency, depending on which part of the country they are from. Many cannot celebrate due to the effects of the economic downturn, as manifested in weakening Naira and falling oil prices, both exacerbated by widespread corruption.

”Many will mark the holidays in darkness as the country’s public power supply seems to have fallen in a direct proportion to huge funds ostensibly pumped into the sector in the past few years. Many will be stuck on the roads that have become clogged due to their poor state.
”While there is no magic wand to solve the myriad of problems facing our country in one fell swoop, an APC government will begin to positively impact on the citizenry within its first few months at the helm, to such an extent that Nigerians will have a better Christmas celebration in 2015,” it said.

This claim didn't come to pass. Don't think Nigerians are having a better Christmas than we had last year. All those challenges he mentioned are still with us.

So what do you want to do about that, Temitope? Vote APC out in January? What pressure did you give the previous government? Did you make it accountable?

What are your proofs that his claims didn't come to pass..?

@Samguine - looking for empirical evidence.
@Alabi - it is always important to discuss this issues and keep all governments under pressure to deliver.

While I appreciate that all governments need time, it is also important to hold politicians to their promises as difficult as that may be.

In your estimation how much time is enough for Nigerians to experience change: one, two, three or four years?

I think the focus should be on the process to get us out of the wood which is on anyway. Results can only come after this. My friends, there should be no quick fixes else things fizzle out again.

Agreed but that needs to be communicated. It is important to manage expectations and that is part of politics. You deliver some easy wins and you manage expectations in other areas. The focus about the previous government is now on corruption and not on non performance in the various sectors as the current government does not seem to have alternatives or are not articulating alternatives.

In addition I am uncomfortable with the focus on the presidency as in my opinion the main political issue in Nigeria are the governors. They have failed in every aspect and have only been successful in making Nigerians focus on the centre.

Has the APC done anything about the depreciating naira or the Christmas celebration that is drawn near has the APC paid the December salary to her workers what about the hiking prize transport fare and the food stuff have they done anything about it.

Very good question here for you @Samson.

@Lequte @Benny-Joe Adams

They are doing something about everything listed above. Policies have been set up in place by the CBN to strengthen the Naira. Worker would be paid soonest. There is a hike in transport and food which can be traced to the decrease in the price of oil and it's subsequent scarcity in the country. Reports say that some refineries have started working and payment of subsidies is being actualized. Let us give this guys time to work on what they have promised. It is just seven months already.

"JUST" seven months? We are watching you in HD. Hope your brave and bold front won't be crushed 5 months later. By then we ought to be seeing the beginning of the promised "CHANGE". If not, @Samguine you're in trouble.
