Former Sokoto State governor, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, yesterday while speaking with newsmen in Sokoto explained that his leaving the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is not to contest the senatorial election.
He said as a former governor, he cannot go for senate because that will imply he is an ingrate. He said he has to show gratitude to the people who gave him opportunity to be governor by not tasking them further.
Daily Trust said he insisted that it's greedy for someone who had controlled three senatorial districts to now seek to represent only one.
He also stressed that he is not in politics because of political positions but for the sake of the common man.
