The regent of the Alakeof Egbaland, Chief Soniran Sowemimo has died. He reportedly slumped suddenly due to cardiac arrest in Abeokuta, Friday night.
The late Egba Chief was a three time Commissioner for Information in Ogun State. He was also a veteran journalist.
He had reportedly slumped while at the Abeokuta Sports Club, Oke-Ilewo, in the company of his fellow club members. He was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, where he subsequently died.
He had been recently appointed by the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedodun Gbadebo, as a member of the Regency Council.
