Obi Chukwuka Okonjo, father of Co-coordinating Minister of the Economy and the Minister of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo Iweala, can now sleep with relief, as the controversy surrounding whose chieftaincy position is valid in Ogwashi-Uku Community in Aniocha South Council Area of Delta State and the Obi that can perform the installation has been put to rest by an Ogwashi-Uku High Court judgment.
The claimants, Emmanuel Nwaolise and 10 others, had, in their joint statement of claim, sort a declaration among others from the court that their purported removal by Obi Okonjo and four others was illegal, null and void having been installed by the then prescribed authority of Ogwashi-uku community, Felix Izediunor, while Obi Okonjo and others in their counter claim of defense has sort a declaration of the court that the said claimants cannot hold themselves out as chiefs on the ground that the said Felix Izediunor, who installed them was not validly installed and recognised as the Obi of Ogwashi-uku in line with the suit NO: B/334/87 also known as suit No: 0/5/85.
