The crisis between old members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and newly defected governors has deepened with both sides battling it out for the control of APC structures in Sokoto, Kano, Kwara and Adamawa states, investigations by the Nigerian Tribune has revealed.
The interim leadership under Chief Bisi Akande had responded to the escalating infighting by setting up a peace committee which is yet to record any breakthrough in resolving the crisis.
The members of legacy parties who are the original members of the APC are opposing attempt by the defected governors to take over the APC structures. The defectors, on the other hand, are insisting on a takeover, describing it as part of their conditions for defection to the APC.
