Senator Magnus Abe, Senator representing Rivers Central Senatorial district, has been hit by a bullet fired by officers of the Nigerian Police Force,Rivers state Command.
Senator Abe was shot at a Pro-Amaechi organized by the Save Rivers Movement in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers state.
Honour Siranwo, Senator Abe's Personal Assistant and Information Officer has confirmed the incident adding that the senator is lying critically in the hospital.
Meanwhile, the Rivers state government has blamed the Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, for the attack, saying it was part of his plan to militarize Rivers state.
