The Rivers State Police command has ordered the leadership of the Rivers state House of Assembly to desist from performing their oversight functions.
The order contained in statement signed by Ahmad Mohammad, Rivers state Police Public Relations officer, said the order to restrain the lawmakers became imperative following the appeal of the judgment that reinstated the state assembly. The statement added that the Rivers state Assembly complex would not be opened until the appellate court determines the status of the case.
