Nigeria's celebrated rapper, Ruggedman, known for his candid stand on issues and hit singles like 'Ehen' and 'Ruggedy Baba' has admonished Nigerians to shed their negative disposition to the nation's voting process and in five words, he put his message succinctly, saying, "Just shut up and vote" in a campaign for '4 New Lagos' (4NL).
Just a few days ago, we reported the story of 9ice emerging on an APC endorsed flyer as well as other Nigerian entertainers including Desmond Elliot, Julius Agwu, Jibola Dabo expressing much more than a passing interest in politics.
As the 2015 elections draws closer, it remains to be seen if Ruggedman is merely being patriotic or if this is the beginning of bigger things to come. At the moment, Ruggedman has not been openly associated with any political leaning save his endorsement of 4NL.
