Business Sage Africa deepens presence in Nigeria to tap N15bn software market - BusinessDay

Sage Group plc, UK-based software company, with annual profits of £296.7 million in 2012, is raising its stakes in Nigeria’s fledging software market valued at N15 billion with the establishment of a local office in Lagos, commercial nerve centre of the country. “Sage is already an established brand with a strong presence in Africa and establishing another local office, in addition to the successful Kenyan operations, is an important step in our growth strategy and to enhance our global footprint,” says Ivan Epstein CEO of Sage Africa, Australia, Middle East and Asia (AAMEA).

The newly established office comprises of three product suites: Sage ERP, Sage HR Africa and Sage Pastel Accounting. “Although each product has a very specific focus, ensuring for a diversified client-focused product map, the team will actively work together to ensure for an even stronger collective position on the continent,” said Epstein in a statement.

Speaking at a media briefing in Lagos, weekend, Jeremy Waterman, managing director of Sage ERP Africa, said the African landscape typically comprised of businesses that were no larger than upper mid-market in size as measured by global criteria.
