Sir Ahmad Bello Memorial Foundation yesterday flagged off a capacity building workshop for medical doctors and other health workers in emergency trauma/blast care skills.
The two-day workshop which is taking place in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, is aimed at addressing the dearth of medical doctors facing the north. Speaking at the programme, former Inspector-General of Police and a member of the foundation’s advisory council, Ibrahim Coomassie said the workshop would provide a platform for northern professionals to provide medical and other social services free of charge. Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed, represented by Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Isiaka Gold, noted that health care delivery was one of the challenges confronting the north.
