Politics Senate Enters Closed-door Session To Avert Rancour During Buhari's Budget Presentation

Nigerian Senators on Tuesdaay quickly moved into closed session ahead of the arrival of President Muhammadu Buhari for the presentation of the 2018 budget proposal.

DailyTrust reports that the Senators went into the session immediately after the Senate President, Bukola Saraki said the opening prayers by 11.10am.

The session, it was gathered was to address issues raised by a group of lawmakers comprising members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) who have threatened to cause confusion during the budget presentation.

Sources said the lawmakers specifically threatened to heckle the President during his budget presentation to protest poor implementation of the capital component of the 2017 budget.
