David Mark, Nigeria's senate president has urged the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to ensure that the current National Identification scheme succeeds. The senate leader also said that the scheme must not become a white elephant project.
Addressing members of the NIMC, Mark said , that all the bottle necks that bedeviled the past exercise must be cleared to ensure the success of the new project.
"We must emphasis efficiency this time. We do not want another white elephant project. All we want now is positive results and not the woes why it failed".
Mark enjoined the commission to liaise with other agencies of government such as the National population Commission (NPC) and the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) to avoid duplication and ultimately save cost. He also assured the NIMC of full support from the national assembly.
