A Christian group, Christians In Politics Initiative through its President Reverend Isaac-Ojo Eleka, has waded in the sex scandal of popular Nigerian cleric, Apostle Johnson Suleman. The group, in a press conference yesterday put up a defence of the fiery preacher, adding that Suleman has been tried and convicted by the Nigerian Media over what they term as amorous relationship between him and Canada-based Nigerian public stripper, Ms. Stephanie Otobo.

In the video below by NAIJ, the group said, it is Apostle Suleman today, it may be another person tomorrow. For Apostle Suleman, I want to appeal that you hand over this battle to God as he has expressly promised that vengeance belongs to God.

It continued:
''This issue is not about Apostle Suleman alone, it is within the Christendom. For we that are pastors especially. What is the case now could be another person tomorrow. All these issues coming up now, why not earlier? And this issue on ground now is more than the way we are looking at it. Many people have kept a lot of things in their mind, that can't be revealed yet. ''
