Ex coach of Nigeria's U-23 team Samson Siasia in an interview with BBC, expressed disappointment at Nigerian billionaires for failing to come to the team's aid at the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.

A Japanese surgeon, Dr. Katsuya Takasu, gave the team a gift of $390,000 to help them during their stay in the South American country.

Speaking about him, Siasia said: “This man came to our aid when we were in trouble. I must thank him. He is a wonderful human being.

"Where were our billionaires, like Aliko Dangote, when they must have heard that the team were in trouble?" he queried.

He added that the report written by the NFF’s Integrity Officer (Dr Christian Emeruwa) on Dr Takasu (which alludes that he could be associated with match-fixing) is nonsense.

"He should have done a better job of checking him out," he added.
