Metro Sokoto State Spends N70m on First Phase Construction of Almajiri School

The Sokoto State Government has spent about N70 million on the construction of the first phase of the Almajiri school in Dange-Shuni Local Government Area, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Alhaji Tukur Alkali, has said.

``The school will serve as a model for the provision of sound Islamic and western education to the children,’’ he said.

According to him, work on class rooms, hostels, mosque, dining hall, staff room and fencing of the school has been completed.

He assured that a conducive environment for teaching and learning would be created to encourage the children to remain in school.

The commissioner urged parents to enrol their children in formal schools to secure their future and that of the state.
