Business South African Investors Eye Nigeria's Power Sector

Numerous South African-based investors have finalized plans to stake their resources in Nigeria's power sector, according to National Mirror.

Some of the investors who reportedly preferred not to be named at this stage stated that they have engaged with indigenous investors to do business together.

“Things are looking up in Nigeria and we are interested to partner with local firms to boost investment in the power sector,” he stated.

Meanwhile, the Minister of power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo said that West Africa’s power sector needed an estimated investment of $25bn (N3.88trn) in 10 years.

Nebo disclosed this in his presentation titled “Updates on the Nigerian power privitisation’’ at the ongoing West African Power Industry Convention (WAPIC) in Lagos
