Sports Stoke City coach praises Victor Moses for his superb performance against Newcastle

Stoke City manager, Mark Hughes, has commended Super Eagles forward Victor Moses for the exceptional performance he put up during his side's one-nil victory over Newcastle United on Monday night.

Peter Crouch latched on a pinpoint cross from Moses to head in Stoke's solitary goal that got the victory over Alan Pardew's team.

"[Moses has] been exceptional," Hughes told media after the victory. "He's a man on a mission, I would suggest.

"He hasn't had a lot of football in the last two seasons and he just wants to play.

"Every time he gets into those wide positions you sense something is going to happen."

Striker Crouch also praised the contribution of the Nigerian to the Potters’ victory.

"Victor's been our main threat so far this year, and he’s going to get quality balls into the box," Crouch told Sky Sports. "It was a great delivery and I'm pleased with the goal."

Following his impressive performances,Moses has been recalled to the Super Eagles squad for next month's African Nations Cup qualifiers against Sudan.
