Sports Stop criticising us - John Obi Mikel

Super Eagles midfielder John Obi Mikel believes that the team needs to be supported to scale out of their predicament, rather than the criticisms that they have been getting.

Nigeria is currently walking a thin line and in danger of not qualifying for the 2015 African Nations Cup,unless they can turn the table in the remaining three games of the qualifiers.

The 1-0 loss to Sudan on Saturday leaves the Super Eagles bottom of their group, and the team will now need results to go their way in other matches.

Mikel further pleaded for people to stop criticizing them following the defeat, adding that they are affected by it.

“I can’t still believe how and why we lost that game, it’s important to move ahead and for those saying we don’t deserve to be in Morocco, I think that is unfortunate and we must stop spreading that negativity because it gets to the team,” Mikel said.

And the Chelsea midfielder blamed the artificial pitch for their abysmal display in Khartoum .

“The pitch we played in was awful. You can’t move, the ball bounces when you want to control it and when you shoot it goes the wrong direction, it was a nightmare playing on that pitch.”

Then cease moving like Sumo wrestlers on the pitch. Mr. obi, please be reminded that there's a lot at stake here. You're a professional. no one is asking you to play like Costa, Aguero or Messi - Just play as a team and get results; shikena!
