President Omar Al-Bashir of Sudan had to leave the venue of a 2 days Africa Union meeting which took place in Nigeria for fear of being arrested and prosecuted for various alleged crimes he committed against humanity in Darfur.

The president who had been declared wanted came to Nigeria on July 14 to attend the Africa leadership meeting, and deliver a speech, but when the Human Right group got the news of his coming, they quickly alerted the journalists in Nigeria and abroad about the visit.

The journalists went as far as filing a case in Abuja Federal High Court calling upon the Government to arrest him.

The Sudanese president who knew the implication of these moves quickly left the venue of the meeting during lunch and left for his country
