Super Eagles should work on their defence – Akpoborie

Former Nigerian international,Jonathan Akpoborie has called on the Super Eagles to improve and shore up their defence in games.
Akpoborie evaluating the performance of the Super Eagles in the 2-0 victory over South Africa on Wednesday,said that they need to work more on their defence.
But he however praised the team,for putting up a good show against the Bafana Bafana in Durban.
“I want to commend the efforts of the Super Eagles players because they have shown they are a great side that can be relied upon at every given time,” Akpoborie told Goal.com
“The boys displayed good performance especially in the second half. But our defence line must work harder. They were exposed in the first half because the attack could not hold the ball very well.”
“That is the only sore point of that game. You will notice that in the second half when Victor Moses and Ahmed Musa came on, the defenders were relaxed and they played better.”
“Our defence line needs to work more and do better than they have done. I believe in the players and the potentials they have. But there is work to be done in that department.”
Akpoborie further added that the Super Eagles would be a formidable force,if they could sort out their defence.
“Once we sort out our defensive problems, the Super Eagles will be hard to beat,”
