Sports Super Eagles sympathize with South Africa over the murder of the Bafana Bafana captain

The Super Eagles of Nigeria have sent their sympathies to their South African national team counterparts on the untimely death of their goalkeeper and captain, Senzo Meyiwa.

The 27-year old was murdered around 8pm on Sunday night after two gunmen entered a house in Vosloorus township near Johannesburg while an accomplice waited outside, the national police force said on its Twitter account.

Meyiwa was one of those who helped the Bafana Bafana salvage a point against the Super Eagles during the first leg of their AFCON 2015 qualifiers and also helped the Buccaneers defeat Ajax Cape Town 4-1 at the Orlando Stadium in their Telkom Knockout quarter-final.

"@NGSuperEagles: We commiserate with our friends and brothers in South Africa over the tragic and untimely passing of @Bafanabafana GK Senzo Meyiwa"

The police have announced a reward of about $14,000 for any one who can give them useful information leading to arrests in the case.
