The Supreme Court yesterday approved the election of Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State. That was after the apex court berated the former governor of the state, Ikedi Ohiakim, who masterminded the suit that provoked the instant appeal. The intermediate appellate court specifically lashed out at Ohiakim for embarking on an endless litigation.
Justice Clara Ogunbiyi, read the lead judgement of the court in the appeal yesterday. Okorocha’s appeal had challenged the decision of the Appeal Court, Owerri, which joined his predecessor, Mr. Ikedi Ohakim in the appeal instituted by a candidate of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Senator Ifeanyi Ararume.
