Mr. Josiah Kente, the Speaker of the Taraba House of Assembly on Wednesday called on the state government to immortalise Mr Haruna Tsokwa, the late speaker of the house, who died in Nov. 4 at the Federal Medical Centre, Jalingo.

Kente described the deceased who was the house ninth speaker, as a great leader, saying Tskowa can best be remembered by naming some projects after him.

The Deputy Speaker of the assembly, Alhaji Tanko Mikarfi, described Tsokwa as a courageous, humble and honest leader.

Mikarfi said the Tsokwa's role in ensuring peace and unity of the house, especially during disagreements, would always be remembered.

Another member, Istifanus Gbana, said although the deceased had a short tenure as speaker, he recorded significant success because he always listened to advice from members.

Gbana prayed to God to give the deceased's family and the people of Taraba the fortitude to bear the loss.

The house adjourned to reconvene on Dec. 9
