Politics Taraba Exco Begins Process to Remove Suntai as Governor Just as Aide Claims He'll Return This Week

The Taraba state executive council is set to begin a series of processes which may see to the removing of ailing governor Danbaba Suntai.

According to THIS DAY, addressing a press conference in Jalingo, the state capital yesterday, the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Musa Adamu Tende, said the council directed the state assembly to set up a medical panel in fulfillment of the provisions of the 1999 Constitution to to ascertain the health condition of Governor Suntai.

Meanwhile, THE NATION reported that coordinator of Tarabans United for Suntai (TUS), Ezekiel Gambo in a statement said “the governor’s health has considerably improved" and he will be returning any time this week.

"We are using this medium to disprove reports emanating from Garba Umar and the Deputy Governor’s camp that the Suntai is now fully incapacitated,” he said.

Suntai was involved in a plane crash on August 25, 2012, and had not resumed duty as governor of the state since then, he is presently in a London hospital receiving treatment.
