Following the on-going rift between Tecno Mobile and the dealers's association over trade issues, the manufacturers of the Tecno mobile phones, in a bid to resolve the trade issues at the Computer Village Ikeja, Lagos, has said it is open to dialogue with the Phone Dealers Association.

The association is unhappy with the anti-market activities like undue dominance of smaller brands.
Mr. Iyke Nwosu, the President of the association, had admitted some form of market anomaly in the system, indicating the association’s commitment to resolving the issue.

However, the Deputy General Manager, Tecno Nigeria, Mr. Chidi Okonkwo, denied the allegations leveled against the company, stating that the company is open to peaceful dialogue to address the matter.

He said Tecno had remained a peaceful brand that was focused on market growth, especially in the market, where it operated and has no plan to frustrate the businesses of other phone dealers in the market

“The truth is that SON is a statutory body in Nigeria and Tecno cannot and will not influence its action on the market.”

“This is something we can handle among ourselves. We are willing to enter into a dialogue with them in order to address the issues amicably. We also want to know exactly what the real issues are.”

This is in reaction to the accusation leveled against the company as being behind a recent raid at the Computer Village by SON.
