The viral video featuring Redeemed Christian Church Of God General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye asking members to donate One billion Naira for church project has been met with fierce condemnation and mixed reactions as every meaningful Nigerians has criticized to move.

Daddy Freeze and others has fired shots at the man of God and the latest to slam him us beauty entrepreneur Dencia. Daddy Freeze had also criticized the demand stating that the church had enough structures and funds should be utilized for the creation of social amenities in the country.

He has the freedom to ask and they have the freedom to criticize. In the climate we live in, where wealth is often the proceeds of dodgy deals or government favour, it is important that everyone is held accountable.

I agree that pastors should be held accountable for how they spend the funds but not criticize them to the point of ridicule for raising funds for their projects. Specially when the individuals involved have a tract record of performance. Their right of criticism should be exercised in the proper way and just insulting elderly people all the time in the name of exercising rights. Our primary concern should be that funds raised for a specific project is spend for that project.
