[FOX NEWS] - Rep. Peter King, the chairman of the Subcommittee on Counterterrorism and Intelligence said on Friday that the Al Qaeda threat that made the State Department issue a worldwide travel alert and also shut down twenty one embassies and consulates this weekend is a very serious and ‘very specific’ threat.

He said they weren’t sure where the strike would take place, but they knew when and therefore had to be on the alert.

This is the first travel alert of this nature since the announcement made before the tenth commemoration of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. This alert came on the heels of the preparations for closure of the Washington embassies and consulates in all Muslim countries this Sunday.

Even though details coming from the U.S. officials are pretty sketchy, it is quite obvious that they are taking the quite seriously.

Meanwhile, reports confirm that President Obama is right now getting updates on a potential threat that is happening or coming from the Arabian Peninsula.
