Business Tincan records N127.34billion revenue under 6 months

THE Tincan Command said it raked in a total of N127.34 billion as revenue for the six months ended, June 30, 2013, as against the N120.9 billion it realized in the same period of 2012.

Comparative analysis of the report issued by the Command, showed that there was N6.43 billion increment over the figure generated last year.

Comparative analysis of the report issued by the Command, showed that N16.34 billion was generated in January 2013, as against N14.58 billion recorded in equivalent period of 2012.

In the month of February of 2013, the Command also recorded N16.27 billion compared to N19.27 billion in 2012; N17.56 billion raked in March, 2013 as against N19.00 billion in 2012. The figure went up to N19.18 billion on April from N15.21 billion in 2012. For the month of May, the command generated a total of N19.90 billion in comparison to N17.11 billion in the corresponding period of 2012.

Further breakdown showed that it garnered N17.64 billion in the month of June, as against N18.33 billion in 2012, while the sum of N20.43 billion was generated in July, 2013 compared to N17.396 billion in 2012.

A total of 139 seizures amounting to N428.14 million were made in the first six months (January – July), 2013. This involved 81 40 ft containers, 45 20ft containers, two unpacked vehicles and 11 others.

The seized items include: tissue paper, furniture,soaps, vegetable oil, soft ddrinks, used cloths, generators, used tyres, lace materials, television stand/sets, automotive batteries, mosquitoe coil, expired frozen fish, used shoes, glass, printed was, cartons of whiskey, bales of second hand clothing, bags of basmati rice, etc.
