Following the recent bomb attack on a gas installation in Warri, men of the Nigerian army last night, invaded Okpelama community, Gbaramatu kingdom, in search of the perpetrators.

Soldiers are also keeping tabs on Kurutie, the hometown of ex Niger Delta militant, Government Ekpemupolo, Vanguard reports.

The soldiers reportedly stormed the community with gunboats at about 10.45 pm on Saturday and broke into homes of the villagers, many of whom scampered into the bush on sighting them as they alighted at the jetty front.

“At the moment, my community is practically a ghost town, the people are running away to Warri and other places," chairman of the community said.

A security official however clarified: "There is information that some of the boys sponsored to carry out the attacks are from Okpelama, which is why soldiers went to the community in search of them," the official said.

Probably best to build an intelligence service to use informants to get the boys while they are having a drink etc.. rather than terrorising the innocent. I can think of better things for DSS officials to do than to clean shoes of politicians.
