Tottenham will be finishing above Arsenal for the first time in 22 years after beating the Gunners 2-0 at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

After a goal-less first 45 minutes Dele Alli poked into the net for the home side before Harry Kane made it two from the spot after a controversial penalty decision from the referee less than three minutes later.

Arsenal could've suffered more as Tottenham wasted a host of chances in the first half. Alexis Sanchez couldn't find the net and Mesut Ozil was below par for most of the match. Overall, Arsenal rarely threatened the Tottenham defence while Petr Cech was busy at the other end.

With the loss, Arsenal remain in 6th position with 50 points, albeit with a game in hand. They are 5 points from 5th placed Manchester United and 6 from Manchester City who sit fourth.

Tottenham on the other hand close back the gap on leaders Chelsea to four points, who top the table with 81 points.
