Confederation of African Football(CAF) have given the Tunisian Football Federation another opportunity to apologise for their actions at the 2015 African Nations Cup or be banned.
Tunisia protested in their quarter-final match against Equatorial Guinea after the referee awarded a controversial free-kick against them.
After the game, The Tunisian Federation claimed that CAF preferred the host country to qualify rather than them, which informed the decisions that went against them.
Even Wadie Jary, President of the Tunisian Football Federation had to resign from his position in the Organising Committee
The African football governing body had asked the Tunisian Football Federation to send a letter of apology for insinuations of bias and lack of ethics against Caf and its officials, or to present irrefutable evidence to substantiate the accusations of the FTF.
Rather Tunisia remained defiant that they will not apologise to the continent football body.
CAF said that the North African side now have until March 31 to show remorse over the incident or their punishment upheld.
"The Executive Committee of Caf, which met on Friday, February 6, 2015 in Malabo, took note of the suspended sentence. The Committee also decided to give the Tunisian Football Federation until March 31, 2015 to comply with the recommendations of the Disciplinary Panel and the organising committee, otherwise the Executive Committee of Caf will disqualify Tunisian national team from the next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2017,” Caf published on Friday.
