Metro Uduaghan Urges Beneficiaries of Poverty Alleviation Programs To Use Gifts Judiciously

Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta urged beneficiaries of the poverty alleviation programme of the ``The Word of Life Bible Church'', to make effective use of what they got.

Mr Ayo Oritsejeafor the leader of the church, gave out six cars, 12 tricycles and 100 grinding machines to some people in Warri.

The Gov. commended him for the gesture, saying that it would help to reduce poverty, criminal activities and ensure peace in the state.

He urged youths to shun all forms of anti-social vices and channel their effort into useful ventures, gave N250,000 to each of those who won cars and pledged to support the church’s initiative with N15 million.

Also speaking, Gov. Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom urged the affluent in the society to emulate Oritsejeafor, in his idea he sit will help youths create employments.

He also urged those who did not win to hold on to their faith and believe in God, because ``the word of God never fails’’.

``Life is like a databank, whatsoever you keep in it, it is what you will withdraw,'' Akpabio said.

He also donated N1 million to four of the car winners to fuel their cars and also pledged N10 million to the church.

Among the beneficiaries of the cars are, Mr Ererome Friday, a physically challenged person, who was full of praise.

Other car winners, who all promised to make the best use of their cars, are Mr Ogori Anthony, Mrs Agwehro Ibukun, Mr Edjeba Isaac, Mr Ikpen Efe and Orogun Odumagbo.

Oritsejeafor thanked the governors for honouring him and prayed God to honour them in all their ways
