President Muhammadu Buhari is taking things easy following his return from the UK for a medical vacation.

According to a report from The Punch, the president didn't exert himself much after his return a week ago.

Last week, the president reduced his itinerary, had few engagements and spent fewer hours at the office.

Throughout the week, no appointment was scheduled for the President outside his office, except for the weekly Federal Executive Council meeting, which he presided over on Wednesday, and his brief appearance at the National Economic Council meeting on Thursday.

The two events were held in the Council Chambers located about 50 metres from his office

Before his medical vacation, the president usually resumes in the mornings and returns to his official quarters after the 4pm prayers. Last week, he only spent a couple of hours in office per day.

“As you can see, almost all the President’s engagements for the week were held inside his office. That was designed to allow him to rest. Hopefully, from the coming week, the President may participate in more activities,” a Presidency official said.
