The management and staff of Imo State University, IMSU, Owerri, is in a state of anxiety following the reported abduction of the institution’s Public Relations Officer, PRO, Nze Ralph Njoku-Obi, last Sunday.

Vanguard gathered that unidentified armed hoodlums scaled through the perimeter fence of Njoku-Obi’s private residence in Owalla, Uratta, Owerri North local Council area of the state.
The abductors struck at about 2am, shot sporadically to scare people away from the scene, before whisking their hapless victim away to an unknown destination.
While the ugly incident has become a source of worry to Owalla people, it was equally gathered that the IMSU community was also rattled when our correspondent visited the institution.
Some staff of the institution, who spoke on strict grounds of anonymity, claimed that they had heard the rumour of the PRO’s kidnap, adding that they could not say with finality if it was true or not.
