Republicans claim a veto by Barack Obama would mean Obamacare would be repealed if they win the race to the White House in 2016.

The Senate has approved legislation aimed at crippling President Barack Obama's health care law after a tight vote on Thursday night.

The bill, which is expected to be rubber stamped by the House in days, would be the first to reach Mr Obama's desk demolishing his 2010 healthcare overhaul - one of his most significant domestic achievements.
